Helping Patients Maintain Healthy and Attractive Smiles for a Lifetime

Some very important parts of dental care are the brushing and flossing you do at home and the regular cleanings and checks that your dentist and hygienist do for you. Going to the dentist should not be regarded as something you do only when you have a toothache. Going to the dentist regularly, in combination with your own daily cleaning, eliminates many emergency trips to the dentist and improves your overall oral health.
At your dental cleaning and check-up (in most cases we recommend a check-up every six months) your dentist and hygienist will take x-rays of your teeth and surrounding structures, remove any tartar or plaque build-up, polish and floss your teeth, and check for any irregularities. Such irregularities might include tooth decay, various stages of gum disease, oral lesions, or other conditions of the teeth and mouth.
