TMJ/Oral Facial Pain

When teeth don’t fit together as they should and/or the temporomandibular joints (TMJs) don’t function properly, pain and pressure can result.  Patients can experience headaches, facial, neck, shoulder, or jaw pain.  Tooth wear, teeth grinding, and chronic facial pains are also common problems associated with TMJ disorders.

Improper bite alignment and TMJ problems can cause pain as well deterioration of teeth and supporting structures.  Our practice evaluates all patients for these problems as part of comprehensive treatment planning.  Our dental team can use knowledge of bite problems and TMJ-related issues to provide comtemporary therapies to alleviate discomfort and restore optimal function and esthetics.
